Top Three Toothpastes

Regular brushing and flossing is the easiest and most effective way to prevent cavities and avoid other dental care procedures. But when it comes to brushing and flossing there is still a lot of room for error.

If your technique is wrong you could be doing more damage to your teeth than good, and you may even be giving yourself some unnecessary discomfort. The type of dental equipment you choose can also make a difference.

If your toothbrush has bristles that are too hard, you’ll be wearing down the enamel, or protective barrier of your teeth, each time you brush. And even if the choices aren’t necessarily bad, there are so many different types of floss and flossing systems to choose from.

So when it comes to choosing a toothpaste, you may be looking at a shelf full of toothpaste and feeling overwhelmed. At the end of the day, any toothpaste is better than none, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t better choices out there. Here are the top three toothpaste you should consider when your current tub is all gone.

Crest ProHealth

If you don’t have any specific dental needs or concerns and are just looking for the best overall, general-use toothpaste, look no further than Crest ProHealth. This toothpaste will help you fight plaque, gingivitis, and protect you from cavities. In general, it will help you get a healthy smile! It contains stannous fluoride which will help strengthen your teeth but also acts as an antibacterial agent to remove plaque and help freshen your breath.

Tom’s of Maine

This toothpaste is another great option for a few reasons. The Simply White All Natural is a whitening toothpaste that is effective enough in reducing surface stains, but it is gentle enough to use every day. The Clean & Gentle Care has licorice root as one of the ingredients which can help ease many different discomforts from sore gums to bitten cheeks, to an achy throat.

Sensodyne

If you have extremely sensitive teeth and are looking for something very gentle and soothing, try Sensodyne. It is one of the least abrasive toothpastes you can buy and has potassium nitrate as one of the ingredients to help reduce pain while brushing. Despite your best brushing efforts with one of the top three toothpaste, sometimes cavities happen. If you’re worried about getting low-cost dental care, be sure to look into dental insurance which can help cut down on the cost of dental services.

Besides getting cavities filled, you’ll want to have a regular office you visit for all of your dental care needs. Remember, you should be visiting the dentist at least every six months for a regular cleaning and checkup. If you’re in the Orem area,  check out the Crawford Leishman Dental group.

From the moment you walk into our office, you’ll feel right at home in a comfortable setting, greeted by a friendly staff. We can handle the simplest of checkups to more extreme cases of cosmetic dentistry. Whatever your dental needs may be, Crawford Leishman can make them happen while helping you to feel comfortable and at ease.
